I know this might sound daft but why not get one of those insta-heat bags and wrap it round the carbs / wedge it between them if possible. We use them all the time at rugby but i can't remember the name of em.

EDIT:
Found em, Boil the bag for 5 mins or so, last upto 4 hours methinks. come with a velcro starp.

I meant the Re-useable Heat/ice pack third one down, The one clicks are ok but it's a chemical reaction, if the bag pops god knows what it might eat through on the bike. The re-useable ones are a similar gel solution to that used in gel seats, It stores the heat from boiled water and slowly releases it.

Plus it's reuseable So for £2.47 + P&P it can be good for nowt but warming your feet in bed and you've not wasted money, the single use are about £1.35 each.

Surely if the engine put out that much heat near the carbs they wouldn't need heating

Works both ways fella

Its the internal temperture of the carbs primarily that causes them to ice up. It the moisture in the air flow through the carbs (not around) that causes the carb icing problem

Placing heated packs around them would serve two purposes. Preventing wind chill and adding some heat

Sounds like a warranty claim to me. If still in warranty!!!Aern't Carb warmers fitted anyway? I think they're fitted to Bandits.??Can't imagine cars conking out like that.

Thats the problem with having Fair Weather riders and putting up with being fobbed off with tat.

My k5 started for the first time in 2 weeks no probs...couldn't find the choke and not a carbed ice in sight

The carb heaters do very little apparently. It seems that some SVs suffer and some don't. And yes I don't think you'll find anyone still with a warranty for the curvies, and even then I'd bet a pound to a penny that Suzuki would tell you to naff off.
