I opted for train... but he put booze with that option...

Seriously, I'd still go for the train. If the weather turns, you either have to risk riding in it, be stuck there or leave the bike behind...

Yeess...boots could be an issue! Perhaps I should just go buy some winter boots - after all I'm off to Northwich on Monday!!!

LOL @ Ping & the booze!

Ok, it's official - I'm letting the train take the strain.

I'll just have to get pished on the way back to make up for it!

yeah train most certianly

we seem to be having quite a cluster of gravitationally challenged people on this site recently

cant help but notice that everyone started throwing their bikes at the scenery at roughly the same time the gritters appeared....

Get on the bike, bring a pint of TEA (or Hop garden gold) over to me, then park your bike at Guildford station and get the train from there!!!! U near Tongham then!??!?!

I would say if the forecast was like today, then I would ride, but if not, I would train it. More time for booze and snooze.

That jorneys not too bad by train, tis really cold up here and the weather is very changable at the mo. We had a really bad snow shower out of the blue yesterday and I was bricking it thinking i'd get stuck. Take the train much safer and warmer

Sensible option is the train but there are downsides.
It costs a fortune.
At least the bike will get there,as trains can be so unreliable.

My NTL connection cr@pped out yesterday so didn't see the later replies.

Because I booked yesterday, and chose to travel later than ideal, the cost isn't too bad at £38 for two singles.

Hi trickywoos, yup, I live in Tongham. We always go to Aldersh!te to get the train as it's fairly regular and you usually get a seat.

As can be seen from my rant in IB, the train hasn't turned out to be such a good idea.
