Aye but I recon that competition is more likley to come from Melandri/Hayden et al rather than Sete. If he stops moaning and gets on with it he may do well though.

Only if he hits them while running wide after screwing up yet another line...

Let's face it Peter - Ducati could put a monkey on their bike & you would support them wouldn't you ??

Personally, I think Sete saw one last chance at a massive salary before he loses out on a top flight ride & took it - who can blame him. Maybe he'll go down in history as the 'greatest' rider never to win a world championship

As a Vale fan I'm obviously happy that he's at the top, but I think he's gonna get a hell of lot more competition this year - but, I think it's gonna come from Melandri & possibly Pedrosa - don't see Hayden doing it - just not up to the challenge (yet?).

According to his autobiog, Vale didn't take the Ducati ride because he had more chance to influence the development of the bike at Yamaha than at Ducati where they wanted all times of electronic melarky. Also Ducati were a much better set up team so Yamaha was a bigger challenge and he wanted to show he could win on any bike. Didn't fancy the Blata though

I saw highlights of the MotoGP season, concentrated in an hour programme. It showed just how many unforced errors Sete made - unbelievable for a racer of his calibre. I don't believe he'll make anywhere a snear as many this year, but I doubt if he will develop the bike half as much a Vale would have either. That said it was looking pretty good at the end of the season anyway
