Fully synth car oil would slip, if a company made fully synth bike oil and it caused wet clutches to slip one would assume it'd be off the market fairly quickly.

My SV has had fully synth bike oil without problem since it was run-in.
Or so you would think, oils that Have caused problems include:-
Silkolene Pro4 (+pro4 plus)
Rock oil Gold (cant remember full name, but full syth)
Motul bike oils
K+N platinum
Mobil1 4T
Castrol RS-4

Some bikes are a bit sensitive when it comes to oils and their additives, TL's R1's Vmax's etc and its not just the clutch, have known starter clutches to cause problems due to oil.

Like the customer who travelled across europe on his Vmax, ran a bit low on oil and bought a litre of Motul bike oil from a garage in france, The clutch slipped from then on all the way back to the UK, would hardly pull itself along by the time I put a clutch in it.

The problem with the bigger oil companies in tbe past has been that they use a car oil as a base and then blend it to suit bike use and some of the additives in the car base cause slip.
I never use Full synth, always semi, Its best to stick to oil companies that only do bike oils as a rule so the development is 100% bike orientated.

On the other hand some bikes have had problems that show up earlier with different oils, Like TL1000r's where Suzuki's fix for clutch slip was washers under the springs about a year after its launch

Taken out alot of EBC clutches too btw and some with very little miles, Stick to genuine or Barnett and if the steels have any discolouration at all then replace them

Just re-read first post, Is your clutch jumping or slipping? ie does the bike judder when you pull away or do the revs rise quicker than the bike accelerates?

Prob more likely that 'fix' was the problem

The rev's don't rise quicker than the bike accelerates, the bikes jumps when I pull away.

Will try what Sid Squid suggests and see what happens, I guess if the bike is jumping then the clucth is not slipping

Still trying to get used to the different terminology

I use Putoline, not had a problem with any of the range (not used syntec 4+ though)
Silkolene Super4 or Comp4 (which is what Cresent used to use in their race bikes BTW)
