Utterly ridiculous IMHO

Like the copper who complained that Scotland Yard's Black Museum - a private museum of murder exhibits - was racist

Rather ironic that in responding the way they have, they have fulfilled the stereotype the cartoon was poking fun at? In short, making it true and accurate.

As Timwilky said;
A priest I was matey with used to really like Monty Python's life of Brian; it had him in stitches. You can't take this sort of thing too seriously. God evidently has a sense of humour, I don't think he finds cartoons like this particularly offensive.

Muslims (yes, I'm well aware that I'm generalising here) seem to believe that their religion should be respected by everyone else in the world - but have little tolerance for others beliefs.

I'm sorry if this offends any forum members - that is NOT my intention - I'm purely speaking from a personal observation.

Yes this is not just a case of muslims needing to get a life is it? The christians who were up in arms over the mentioned Life of Brian movie?

The Jews who felt that they were portrayed badly in Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ. There are many more examples out there I am sure.

Rather some joke cartoons that make fun of religious subjects than the outrage and brutality that many perform in the name of religion.

I'm sure it wasn't your intention, but this suggests that every muslim who finds this offensive is a violent extremist.

It's just as well that Tony Blair and Monkey Bush don't feel that same way about British cartoonists like Steve Bell....

Anyway, it's not as if Christianity hasn't had it's dark hours (Spanish Inquisition, witches etc)
