Did mine with Kent plod in June and two blokes with naughty cans got sent away and told to attend when the cans were sorted... I think it just depends on the day and copper though

i dont think its worth being de-restricted untill its leagal. katie is and she can only just beat me off at lights and she has only had 120mph from her bike and me 100 for 20mph and a little bit of low down (hardly noticable) is it worth the risk?

and i am going to do a bikesafe course soon,

Whilst the police don't seem to mind the noisy cans riding a restricted bike is from the point of view of the law riding without a licence or insurance. IMHO you getting pretty close to taking the p*ss riding with the police on a illegal de-restricted bike and although other people have said the police didn't mind you would feel like a right prat if they booked you for it!

me too! was a fantastic day, apart from the downpour towards the end! when did you do yours?

Also, don't think I dont feel bad not having a restricted bike, it came with the certificate and the restrictor out, thats sort of how its stayed... when I had my accident (which was a major accident, nearly ended in me dying) they didnt even check to see if it was restricted.

summer this year. did it with my brother (firearms officer who works with and knows all the bike team) doing 120mph in places!!! my brother is a very qualified plod driver as well so i must have picked up some good habits from him! most of the bike team seem good lads with the exception of a few of the ********s that have come from traffic!

I did a bikesafe in 2003. Very informative. Even if you know it all it's still fun to ride out with other people and coppers etc.

I had a naughty exhaust for the day and received nothing but compliments!

I think the focus for the police is to impart safe riding and good relationships between the police and bikers.

It's a great day and definately worthwhile.

However, I've gone on to do the IAM test. The day after I passed the IAM test I got busted for my exhaust (Scorpion - SV650s '00) in Buckinghamshire which was bloody annoying so the Bikesafe police attitude doesn't seem to be representative of the general situation out there which, to me, seems to be very inconsistent indeed.

It's the only grief I've recieved, though. So, I guess I was just unlucky on that particular day.

Enjoy the day. It's fun - as is any further training.
