Well I strolled by the local Suzuki dealership a little while ago and stood and had a good look at the GSR600. I don't think it works in the red colour, but the blue is nice and with the gunmetal colour being excellent.
The bike in general is definitely broader than say an SV but really does look a nice bit of kit. I like the front indicators being set in to panels and the rear exhast exit and light assembly are very neat indeed.
As opposed to that very long hangar for the pillion footrests I don't understand why they could not have been mounted off the swingarm? But perhaps that would subject the passenger to undue suspension movement?

All in all,yes I know price will be a big factor but if it comes in similar to the Fazer and Hornet then this for me would have to be strongly considered.

I can't say I've ever seen a bike with that setup. Wouldn't you run the risk of ejecting the pillion off the back at the first big bump in the road?

Possibly the reason they're not fixed under the subframe is due to the hi level pipes, but I'm only guessing. The Z1000, Hornet and Monster have the same combined footrest idea, and TBH it's not something you notice after the first few views of it.

I think the bike has a fantastic mean & moody look to it, not dis-similar to the FZ1. Is the B-King the 'busa version of this bike? I'd like a go on one of them.

Peter Henry! You are showing your age.The last time I saw pillion rests on the rear swingarm was the F1 CB400 Four. And Slade were number one.

Hornet? Nah... The design brief was blatantly "Make an FZ6, but make it less rubbish". Success!

IMHO it's on the same level of uglyness as the ER-6 and IIRC most reviews said it was ok but could do with lots more oomph!

vfr400...Very odd that as the Spanish journos thought it felt more like a bike of larger capacity, particularly at lower revs? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and personally I would have to suggest that the GSR is far from ugly,a little different maybe...but defintely not ugly.
