Yup. Totally agree. Loads of people just jump back behind this "I'm just doing my job" line. And, its a weak line. The Journo was being a bollix. Plain and simple. He was harrasing the man. Imagine some tosser sitting on your doorstep, stalking you and your family, and then giving it the "Im just doing my job" line.

What he said was, well, the concentration camp guards "were just doing their job" too. It still doesnt make it ok. He was saying that you cannot just wheel this defence out for everything.

Another great one is "Insurance reasons". Jesus.

I think its totally acceptable to use the analogy he did as its a fair and valid one. After all it was the defence the german soldiers and officers used to justify what morally they should not have done. But what choice did they have (as any serving member of any armed forces has) very little. Obey your orders or get out at best, be executed for treason at worst.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH ISSUE AGAIN ANYONE??
I think what the issue is, isn't the initial remark but the fact he carried on with this analogy after the reporter made him aware of his faith and obvious objections. If had stopped after that I doubt very much more would have been said about it.

Perhaps, but never this less, it doesnt change the fact that all he did was simply offend someone. That shouldn't be a big deal.

Agree if I got suspended from work everytime I offended someone I'd be on permanent garden leave.

It is a strange punishment alright.

They think they are at school maybe. He has to write 500 times, I will not slag off creepy journos, and hand it in with his homework.

(Realistically, what difference does it make. He will work from home. They have these things called phones now. And the Internet. Big swing.)

The journo was being a prat. Ken is unable to criticise because of his position, he can't say "Get out of my face you irritating prat" as the journo knows he is succeeding.

The reporting is poor in the article - what relevance is Ken's income to the story?

In short I have no patience for the story - he spoke his mind and got pilloried for it.

I'm with Ken on this. The analogy of "behaving like a concentration camp guard"is very much part of our language and culture since WW2 and applies to anyone acting in an aggressive manner. It seems the reporter fitted this description and his being a jew had nothing much to do with it.I would dare to suggest he played the race card on a double points trumps round. The only positive that comes out of this is that it might, just might make Ken and some of his ultra politically correct cronies think how ludicrous our society has become on this issue.Won't happen though.

Don't know him.
Seems he is adamant in not apologising.

Other issues may affect peoples judgments, but if he is refusing to apologise, then there must be something of a truth in it??

Who knows??

Nah, I think he's refusing to apologise because if he did, he'd have to admit he'd done something wrong... The whole thing sort of smacks of putting Al Capone inside on tax evasion- Ken annoys everyone, so when they do pin him down for something they swat him as hard as they can regardless of what it was.
