Tim. I live 2 mins from the "centre" and my advice to you would be RRRRUUUUNNNNNN. It's OK for posers and the like but not my cup of tea although the mrs loves it, shoes & handbags and all that stuff. IF and I mean IF you have to get dragged along there is a cinema there so try and arrange a trip when there's something on at the cinema you fancy watching and leave them to do the shopping. Works for me

I also live very close, and Bonart has it exactly right, posers galore.

Also, remember its one of (if not the) biggest indoor shopping centres in europe, so when somebody says its a day out, it IS a day out.

Good luck, although its probably nearly over for you now.

I used to work there too, cant stand to drive past the place now.

You’ll love it. Especially in weather like this. The sun streams in through the glass roof and you can walk round in you tee-shirt and shorts in the air conditioned comfort, watching all the totty posers do the same. There’s a superb curry bar in Selfridges and Tiggy’s Restaurant is really good also. Sit outside the Trafford Arms with a pint and watch the Totty world go by.
Mrs Ratty, the Rugrats and myself like to go for a walkabout and a Pizza Hut on a Friday evening.

Things to remember: Don’t park on the upper level because the strong antenna can immobilise your car (common problem) and make sure you leave your coat in the car.

Oh.. and there’s some shops. (One of which is a great model shop so you can buy yourself some toys).

I'm glad I'm not the only person this happens too

I DETEST 'shopping'

I go, I buy, I come home again... I don't 'browse' all day and say "I couldn't really find what I was looking for"
