That's why we planned to move it to the end of the garden. We couldn't get past it the other summer as it was right in the middle of the lawn. I had to re-turf where it had been, the lawn was that dead

All worked out fine n dandy in the end, he invited all the lads from the fire station round for a bbq, but as the night went on he mentioned to our sub officer how the pool was filled, spent the next drill night cleaning the appliance

I hear they've got 18 months reserves here... As in, 18 months with no rain whatsoever and we'd still be fine. The lawn's still dead, but because of the lack of sunshine and excess rain.

Hosepipe ban?? whassat ??

Luckily I live in an area with lots of water usualy in rain form most of the time!

And best of all.... it tastes brilliant from the tap... what you get as bottled water, is what I get through the tap... :P well, if you buy Brecon Carreg anyway...

There's going to be a hosepipe ban in the Thames water are from next month and we've got 91% full supplies, just a precaution they say. Another ruse to impose water meters on us. Saying that the kitchen tap has just started not turning off properly. Off to get a new one tomorrow.

My folks paid theirs the other day. It was £555 for the year. Yorkshire Water.

One question... a what is the definition of a hosepipe? is it from the external of your house?

I mean, if you wanted to fill up a great big pool - why not just connect it to the kitchen or utility room tap, out of a window and into the pool? does that still count as a hosepipe?

Or what if you just filled it up with a load of mates using great big buckets? Thats not using a hosepipe is it?
