Thanks CRONOS, that does help a bit, but it keeps on insisting that I want to deal with a row, and not the column I want!

then i would imagine you have a1:z1, and not a1:a5 if you see what i mean?

I got the red circles no problem, they appear around your eyes when you squint at little numbers
