My head also wishes you well and a speedy recovery for yourself and the bike...

... my heart is also glad it wasn't the Blade!

I think you've come to suffer from, what friends I have in another hobby call, the New Kit Curse.

You can bimble along fine, all happy and fluffy with your old bike and old kit, no mods other than what came with the bike, stuff like that. You invest in a new set of leathers, or a paint job for the bike, or something, then...

... BANG!

Once your New Kit becomes Old Kit you are free and clear, until next time.

I seem to remember you having put a new can on this little beauty recently... It's the Curse I tells 'ee.

Oh K you do make me smile...

I have mixed feelings about this really... I wanted to do a twin headlamp mod anyway, so now I have an excuse. As for the rest of it, as the bike hasn't even done 500 miles yet, I don't really want to rebuild it all from "used" parts...

But while standing on the side of the road waiting for Rob to come out and pick me up, I was quite philosophical about it. The reasons I bought a 2nd bike all started to make sense. I wanted to take some of the pressure off of my 'Blade; if I had an accident I had another bike to use; and if I did hit the tarmac, a naked would cost less to put back together (hopefully!). I just didn't expect to happen quite so quickly after buying it......

Hey, stuff happens, I'm not happy about it, I must have made a mistake, but I've still got a Fireblade to go out on, life's not all bad....

Glad to hear you're ok Steve.

You could mention the sticking throttle to the garage, to see if they'll pick up some of the repair bill (but I doubt it). How much damage did you do to the car?

good to see Rob helped you out.

Ride safe.

Just read this. Sorry to hear about your stack, Steve.

Hope you're not left too sore and it's not too much hassle to sort out the bike.

Cheers,

Jason
