I thought the givaway was that K3's had 'Suzuki' on the tank, rather than just the logo as on K4's. However it's got an Oil cooler radiator, which I thought only came in on k4's.
But then again, no toolbox, so it must be a K3

perhaps

I bought it in May 03 and to the best of my understanding it wasn't a k2. The dealer was the one who registered it and on the rego doco's it states the make as 03.

How can I check ?

Thanks - Naomi.
It should say on the sticker on your service book May 03 would make it a 53 reg (I think,) but it isn't a K3 colour (unless you've had it sprayed )
May 03 would be an 03 reg 53 started in September

The toolbox on the K4+ is at the front of the undertray - you access it by removing a small cover just above/behind the heel plate
Not the cleverest of designs - it has a tendancy to fill up with water so the tools rust, and is totally insecure so any scumbag can nick your toolkit

- a pointy.... havent heard that one before. The designer must have been having an angular period when asked to do a new bike. I like its looks.

Was bought from Daytona's in Angel - and wasnt sold as an import.

Yep - its got a big 03 on the numberplate. I never have been able to figure out your numberplate system over here.

I to have a Black K3 with a 53 reg
they were a ltd edition
I didnt know that. . So does that mean I should change the for sale note to say 'Ltd Ed'

Another clue would be the gear lever is slightly different on the K3, it doesn't fall off like the K4 because of how it's mounted, but that's not clear in the pics.
Gear lever intact and 100% functional. Thats a bit dodgy that the 04 loses its lever on the odd occasion. Be a pain in the ass if you were out somewhere.

Thanks to all for the bits of info. Interesting.
