If you're not fussed about price, the Varadero 125 is a great choice. It's BIG for a 125, so it won't feel like a toy, and you'll get a decent trade in on it when you pass your test. And best of all, it's a twin!

Hello and welcome!

If you get a 125 inbetween doing your CBT and DAS then you can shorten the number of days you spend doing the DAS. But if money isn't a problem why not just do a five day DAS and be done with it? I decided I couldn't wait for a SV so I just did the five day DAS and hopped straight onto the SV. Before doing the DAS I had never actually ridden a bike!

If you do decide to go down a 125 route, have a look at the CBR125, they are little sportsbikes that are set up the same as bigger bikes (gears and brakes all in the same place unlike scooters) and they really keep their value very well.

got to say i think the trials style, DT or varadero is a better choice for riding in London, less weight on your wrists, better view over the traffic, more comfortable esp if your tall. and easy to chuck around.
also very popular at the mo, so easy to resell.
good luck.

Hej!!!!

I did the cbt then bought a 125 did a 4 day DAS over teh next 2 weeks & passed.

Deffo reccommend buying a 125 as you can learn stuff away from the course i.e. practice your u-turn. Get confidence on a bike etc.

Good luck with the passport thing.
