I do like the sound of it I've always wanted to do a lap of the ring. Also Spa appeals to.

Couerdelion - Any chance of a rough idea of how much this likely to cost. As for me that'll be the deciding factor.

Thanks

Fizz

I reckon £700 ish.

It's tricky to work out but here goes...

Cost wise....

Ferry £45
B&B £180 (For 5 days in belgium + 3 days elsewhere)
Spa Trackday £150
'ring laps £35
Petrol £150 (Based on 1800 miles)
Food and beer £100 (????)

The only things that would need to be paid up front are the ferries and trackday.
The rest is paid as needs to be.

I might be low ont he petrol side though.

I guess £700 looks expensive, but a week in Benidorm could easily cost you £450.
And this is a great chance to tick off a lot of must do moments.

That sounds about right Rich.

Fizz, I managed the trip this year on about £300 (under I think, maybe more like £260) but I don't eat much and don't booze-drink.

I guess there is the possibility that if some want to do the extended trip and others want to just do the Ring (maybe as a 'first time' experience) then two trips could be arranged that coincide with each other.

Possibly travelling over their together and back separately or something.

Don't take this as an offer to lead/organise it from me though - or heaven know's where you'd all end up!

Ok,

I've been giving a bit more thought to this and to do all the riding and the 'ring trip and a spa trackday in one week is just too much.

I don't really want to do much more than 300 miles a day and it might be better to do the trip in reverse so we end up visting the Nurburgring on the way back. That way if any one is unlucky enough to have an off the whole holiday isn't ruined.

I also fancy trying to fit in the Passo Pordoi as featured in this months bike, but if they're are more stunning passes to be had closer then all the better!

Any one else any suggestions?

Routes etc?

A thought: Depending on the dates (later the better for me) it maybe nice to come over for a long weekend and join you guys at the ring on the Saturday maybe on your way back up?? I doubt I can get a week off until later in September.

I'm interested, I'll keep a track of this thread as the dates firm up, Spa and the ring sound great, I think with the ring the Nordschleife is the way to go....

PS off to the ring late spring/early summer in the cage for a long weekend if any svers want to come along on their bikes and want their luggage carrying

I think Mart meant do the Nordschleife and the GP track.

Hell, lets do those and Spa!

Rich? Can you do a route to call in at Assen on the way back too?
