Don't get me wrong, if I'm off the pace, I'll make space for people to pass, it's just manners- as well as being common sense, since I don't want idiots behind me boiling over and squeezing past. (not aimed at Timwilky this, I mean your actual idiot here.). But I don't consider it something I have to do, and I don't expect it from anyone else- it's just nice when they do it.

If these prats would ride in line so others could overtake safely I would not have a problem. They don't. They ride 2 abreast taking up a whole lane. They may be content to do 30-40 mph on NSL roads, I am not a fast rider, but I at least try not to get in anyones way. By refusing to overtake they end up in the ludecrous situation as happened yesterday where 3 or more different groups of bikers are stacked up behind them after doing about 8 miles on twisty roads we finally got everyone past them.

When I ride in groups, we stretch out, fastest at the front so that nobody is held up. These idots are simply a moving obstacle bunched together whenever they hit a bend because they can either not ride through it because they are on the wrong line because of their mate next to them or simply don't know how to go round a bend, they brake through the bends and cascade the poor braking not only though their own pack but then onto other riders following behind.

Maybe many of you have some solidarity with these fellow bikers. To me they are reminicent of the cagers who sit at 60 in the middle lane of the motorway and won't move over. I don't want to come back from a ride out frustrated that inconsiderate idiots have held me back on the best sections of road purely by selfish behavoir. If they had any solidarity with their fellow bikers they would recognise they are obstructing bikes behind them. (The bikes are there because these prats are slower than everyone else) and at least move over to allow those who wish to overtake to do so.

Yep, I agree with that... Good riding means moving over. But, not moving over isn't dangerous riding IMO, it's just inconsiderate- overtaking unsafely is dangerous riding.

I've calmed down a lot in my riding... When I did my leg in, I was on crutches for about 4 months, and I got kind of used to going slowly Bus comes along? Before, I'd sprint after it, and get really angry if I missed it. Can't do that on sticks, so I just got used to taking things at a slower pace. Going to be late? Too bad, can't rush, just be late. The injury itself hasn't slowed me down physically on the bike, but it's taken away that impatience/frustration that I used to get basically every day, whether it was on the bike, or on hold, or in a queue. Funny to get a benefit from something like that...

So, go and break your leg

Manners cost nothing. A lot of road users could do with learning that lesson i think. Wether they be cagers, WVMs, cruisers or what have you.

Northy, i wish i could have your relaxed state of mind mate but i'm not keen to break anything to see if it works. Can you post me some by any chance?
