my two pence,
went our riding with a couple dudes riding a ZX7R and a Buell XB12S, they couldn't catch me!! ![]() Had a little race with a guy in the blackwall tunnell, a tall lorry had held up the queue so when we filitered to the front the were no cars so what else could we do? South to north where the are more bends, started leaving me on the straights but soon as the bends came up... ![]() ![]() |

Ive got a K6 SVS and used to have an 00 CBR6. I find that the Sv feels ok off the line but seems completely breathless once going through the gears. The road out of work is a complete flat out blast and once you hit three figures you may aswell have a parachute on yourt back. Fastest managed so far is 120, fastest on the cbr is pushig 140. Ive seen 120 on the clocks of a mates Type R down there FFS.
Just dont think the SV is anywhere near as fast as the 100+bhp inline fours ![]() |

I've seen 130 on mine- and my speedo doesn't overread any more, so that's proper 130. Most bikes showing 140 are actually doing about 125. But it did take a while to get there
![]() Fact is, a well ridden SS600 is faster at absolutely everything than the standard SV. It'd be less good at pulling a trailer, I suppose. It's easier to get a fast launch on the SV, but that's not to say the 600s won't launch fast. You just need to work the clutch. In twisties, it's really no contest. But, the SV is forgiving and unintimidating, so easy to get a lot out of. Also, you're always in teh right gear on an SV ![]() Not putting the SV down at all- I love it, I wouldn't have done what I have to mine if I didn't. But if you take two equally skilled, reasonably experienced riders, one on a GSXR600 and one on an SV, the GSXR will absolutely **** on the SV.
