Cheers,

So a 1.5 meter chain should suffice.

Haven't made my mind up over the III or IV yet, but seeing as it will only be used for home use probably the IV.

I already have a disk lock for out and about, plus the bikes alarmed.

Personally I would buy the chain at the same time as buying a good ground anchor and having time to fit it otherwise you will get the chain and probably put off the ground anchor for a bit. Without being fixed to something, a chain is just another hand hold for lifting your pride & joy into the back of a van

At the moment I can't fit a ground anchor, as my girlfriends place (where I stay a couple of nights a week) is rented.

We plan to be moved into our new place next month, which we will be buying and so can put in a ground anchor once we get the keys.

Going to get one that can be lowered down so as not to be a trip hazard when I've taken the bike out.

you could always try the big bucket full of cement option then rather than a ground anchor ?

ground anchors arnt that expensive i dont think, ive got an oxford terraforce, its about 2 inches thick steel, so thats not gonna get cropped, and will take alot of sawing to get through it.

i paid 50 quid for it, which is expensive, considering they were going for 15 quid at the BMF show last year.

a ground anchor and chain last for life though, you gotta remember that (unless the lock packs up)
