Doesn't work like that, I'm afraid.

It might move peak torque down the rev-range but there won't be more of it.

i think its more of a gimick to be fair. very simlar to new cars like the m5's have different suspension and engine settings. why not just have it on the best settings all the time.

technology is taking conrtol too much for my liking. you never had any of these rider aids a decade ago. its all about rider control, sensibility and confidence. if you cant ride a powerfull bike in wet conditions you really shouldnt be riding it at all. it shows you just dont have confidence riding the bike.

me not like!!!

Because there's no such thing. Some settings are best for in town, some for country roads, some for motorways. It's not possible to find settings which will be perfect for all of these because the requirements are so different.

mabye so but i think you should change your riding style to suit your surroundings, not the bikes.

More so on a bike, where the the rider's weight is significant. One the same roads, same speeds, same riding style, etc, an 8 stone rider's optimum suspension settings will be different to those of an 18stone biffa.

I can see the point in different switchable suspension settings but not really different power-maps. Wouldn't we all just leave it in 186bhp mode all the time?

Erh.. isnt this what a twistgrip and riding to the road conditions is for...

I agree with Jabba, if I bought a bike with that on it, I'd just leave it in 186bhp mode all the time... or not ride in the wet, which TBH how many Sunday warriors buy this kind of bike and never ride it in the rain anyway. The sort of people who do ride all year round will have enough sense and self control to not need it.

IMHO of course.

I don't see the point of these 1 litre superbikes, to be honest. Maybe I'm missing the point, but what difference would there be, realistically, over 600 equivalents?

Plus I think the twin pipes look horrible. Sat on one at the NEC yesterday, you'd be more comfortable on a bed of nails I think!

I agree.

I prefer moving parts and mechanics in my bikes rather than FI and more electrical gadgetry (because I hate electrics, can't work with them and don't trust them!)

Having said that, I think the K7 thou' is utterly gorgeous. Love the twin cans.

The fact is that it's not that hard to ride in the wet really though, three quarters on the milage on mine has been wet or very damp roads. It'll be interesting to see if this a power cap or if there is a significant difference in engine delivery characteristics of that power. I'll wait and see what the testers say, I'll not be buying one though, I'm spent out.

You're supposed to sit on the seat, not the exhaust pipe
