I think in general, bikes on the road tend to be newer than cars on average. Probably because its more likely that a bike will meet an early death as a result of a crash where a car is likely to suffer less damage. You tend to see few bikes which are over 10 years old on the roads, particularly in summer. People tend to use older variants as hacks.

ON another note, there seems to be less and less old cars knocking about. Im not so much talking classics but stuff which is around 10 years old. I guess this is down to the number of Finance options on newer cars these days.

Just down to the company... I cna't remember who it was that put the 15 year limit on, if I could remember my Oldskoolsuzuki password I could find out... Someone on there insured a GSXR1100 and a GS1000 on a classics policy a while back- one drag bike, and one bored-out streetfighter, insured the pair for £140

Edit, hang on... Since it was Oldskool, there's about a 66% chance that it was all total lies

What exactly is the deal with 'Classic' insurance anyway?

If it's so much cheaper... where's the catch?
Stupidly restricted milage, less cover - like windscreen etc, only TPFT... what?

As far as I'm aware it's just smart risk assessment... You tend to get a different sort of rider on a classic bike, and a lot of them aren't such great theft risks either. I imagine they'll be keeping an eye on that though, if I'm right, it's one thing to insure an old-school GS or the occasional daft 1100, quite another once we get into "modern classics"- more nickable, and still attractive to the headbanger
