I know. Idle speed is different to choke.

The choke should be fully off when up to temperature leaving the engine at its set idle.

I tend to keep the idle speed up at about 1,400 rpm on an SV as it seems to make it smooth but just do it by ear. Only adjust the idle speed at the end of a trip when the engine's warm or it'll be all over the shop. Ride for a bit and adjust up and down as you see fit, it's only a number and you can generally tell if the motor's happy.
