krhall, I just got to ask the question, Why do you want the double bubble?

-for wind blast protection
-for looks
-bit of both

You are bout the same height as I am and to be honest found the standard screen fine. Yes at speed there was a little buffetting but if anything helped take the weight off my wrists. At no point between speeds of zero to maximum was there enough buffeting to make me feel even slightly uncomfortable. Before someone says I'm completely wrong and should ba cast out, you must take into account we all have slightly different seating positions and riding preferences. This is by 2 bobs worth.

Just an observation though, I have not seen that many pointies with the double bubble screen around here. E.d. has one though that loks very good. From memory, I don't recall seeing many at the AR06 or Porlock either. I've seen many more on curveys though.

If you get a chance get a test ride on a used bike fitted with one to see if it suits you. Remember hat the different manufacturers have different profiles als well.

As for looks, well thats personall preference, I like em. I don't have my SV anymore so I guess I'll not bother getting one.

I'm 5'10 and spent most of the year before last sitting up like El Cid DId me proud. The fit's not quiet as good as standard, that's true, but then not many are. I've not fitted one to a pointy myself.

I bought a Fabbri off Furry Ginger One; easy to fit, and looks great (its the dark version). Its alot higher than the standard screen, and as I'm a short-ar5e (5ft 6ins) the windblast is minimal. Has made my lid noisier though.

If fitting to a pointy be careful of the rubber strip that runs round the bottom of the fairing where the screen bolts on. It can move out of place, so take care when fitting. Not sure about the curvy though.

Yes it could - a bigger DB doesn't necessarily mean less noise and buffeting. Sitting upright with my head well above the DB there's some wind noise and buffeting. As I crouch a bit it gets worse as the turbulent air deflected off the top of the screen gives more noise / buffeting. Getting right down behind the screen then makes it nice and quiet, but it's not comfortable for long periods.

So if your height and DB screen size are such that you're in the turbulent air flow in your normal riding position the DB could be a lot worse at higher speeds.
