Yeah and all the families of the 6000 workers at Broughton (down the road) thank you for that . They depend on this plane being successful, cos if it ain't the whole of Airbus goes west.
sore point then?

all them people going to loose jobs!
Not a sore point, just happen to know lots of folks that work there. Laughing at the misfortune of a major employer implies you don't care that potentially many folks would lose their jobs.
what spiderman said as above!

no its not the workers fault, but counting chickens befor they hatch? not a great idea in any case!

Add in to all this the knock on effect of loss of engine orders at Rolls Royce and in fact the potential shelving of a whole engine project.
I work on the aftermarket service's and the engines for this project weren't going to give us a high volume of work but the loss will be felt by someone some where.

Well if it does go tits up, the French government will bail them out. Insist on any layoffs being done outside of France. and stuff the English as our government couldn't give a flying feck about British industry as it aint cool.

Anyhoo...airbus look like they are going to lay off thousands of workers around europe to try and save money after the A380 probs.

About jobs in the UK, Airbus go on about leaving the uk unless the government gives huge tax breaks and payouts...maybe move to Slovakia or whereever so they can use cheap east european slave labour wages.
