To be honest, before this trip last summer, the furthest I'd ever done in a single stint was 250 odd miles up to my parents... and that was on a GPz500 and about 16 years ago!

OK, so I was riding a very comfy 'Blade, but I have to say - because the longest haul was on good steady roads it didn't feel any where near as bad as I would have thought.
Bearing in mind the tank range of the SV's that were with us too there were regular stops that were just right to my mind.

Hovi5, perhaps you need to look to your posture and riding position if it's gonna cause you grief.

I will admit to having to make one adjustment to my luggage this year though - I need to get some padding down my back - my crutches gave my right shoulder a bit of grief towards the ends of the days.

Hmmm, now do I bother with the ol' waterproofs this year?

Ok, as nobody has indicated that they don't want to do the latter dates we'll change the trip to Saturday - Tuesday 21st-24th July. I'll amend the initial post in a while.

To be honest the change probably suits me as it gives me an extra day to get over. Dublin to Dover wouldn't be a favourite journey of mine! The extra day gives me time to see my mates and parents back in Leeds too.

That should give a couple of weekends between AR07 and the trip for those who want to do both.

(I'm hoping that the change of dates will be ok with Neil (the instructor) if not I'll contact everyone with alternatives.

If numbers are too high, I would be willing to forfeit my position in case someone who has been before/is friends with the organiser. I have to say though, that doesn't mean I am not interested! Trip sounds ace.
It's first come first served so to speak. Although the ones who have been before usually get their deposits in pretty quick.

Just one more little thing. Although, I am organising this, it isn't an organised tour or anything by a proper biking company. I organise this for pleasure and don't make a penny from it. But it does give me an excuse to go to the ring and show people how $hit I am.
I aren't joking either. Last year I thought my tyres were ok. After 2 laps they were blistered up and whilst on the track I had no grip whatsoever. I would say I rode like a girl but K was probably the fastest of the group!

Good stuff, I'll confirm my attendance then. I can pay whenever you wish, however you wish, pm me the details if you're ready to take it. Paypal is preferred because it's where I have my funds at the moment! Will pay any associated fees too.

Hey! If I remember correctly it was the gixxers we were stopping for, I can get 180 miles from a tank on the autoroute. But a 120 mile stint on the autoroute is more than enough without a stretch.

Rich, I can do either dates, glad it's the shorter trip as money's a bit tight. Let me know about deposits, etc.

That's a good point actually - thirsty Gixxers. And there was Lurcher saying his was really comfortable too. :P

Hovi5 - I did take them, but didn't need them. The only rain we hit was on the route back through Holland I think - and we just rode through it and out the otherside. they were kinda useful as padding for the tie-down strap on the ferry though.
Thing is with waterproofs - if you don't take'em you'll regret it - but if you can pack'em up small enough then they're no real inconvenience anyway.

This is European weather in the summer remember.

That's all I've got - a lightweight oversuit. Being a tiny little shrimp of a thing it's a bit on the big side but it's dry, fairly compact and is fine in an emergency...

... which is all I'll eve use it for being a semi-retired old school all weather biker and now enjoying the life of a leatherclad fairweather weekend warrior with a posey litre sportsbike.

Ahhh, life is good when it's sunny.
