Are you in a union If not, join one and start making a diary...

Then you'll have your day in court

If you are 100% there is nothing you can do then change jobs. You are working so much of your life there is no point being somewhere that you hate to the point you dread going to bed as that means you are closer to waking up and having to go to work.

There are plenty of other jobs out there, you just need to keep looking until you find one where you are happy.

I know a new anti-ageism policy has come into effect. Surely this must go both ways to combat older folk talking the wee with younger employees?

Totally with Fizz on this.

Also - if your health is suffering, get signed off from work for a few weeks to gve yourself a break. And tell them why.

Well it looks as though you have done everything you can in the human to human method so I'm afraid I would also have to go with Fizz and Ed now. The only problem is that often your position can become untenable even if you win, but you could then claim constructive dismissal (but it ain't necessarily cheap, even if, again, you win).

Never miss your lunch break! For one thing it keeps you performing at the best rate. Assuming your contract entitles you to one. There isn't necessarily a legal requirement for you to have one so be careful there, it generally only applies to shop workings and similar.

If it is making you feel ill go and see your doctor. This isn't trivial stuff and your dr should recognise that. This will greatly support any further action you may have to take as well as preventing things from getting worse.

In the meantime, exercise regularly, this is a known fact to help relieve stress and maintain a feel good factor.

me too... even to the point where I feel ill. Not just got a headache to try and get out of it, but it does give me a headache. Hate it, but it pays the mortgage and the skills that my workplace recognize I have are not written in a certificate, so I just can't find another job that pays well enough or suits my family commitments.... its grim. I just keep looking at job sites and pray something will turn up. My working week begins on a Thursday, and it ruins Tuesday nights and Wednesdays ... crazy

I love where I work. I love the customers. I love my collegues. I love my bosses & my board of governors.

All this, despite the fact that right now, I'm under immense pressure to get a bug fixed & out to a customer, and there's only me working on it.

Bring on the work!

Sorry

that sucks, I've been there a number of times. Right now my situation is in the process of changing, hopefully for the better!

There must be something that can be done? Is there something at work that can be rectified or is it just that you don't like what you do anymore? Have you tried job hunting? The first thing I did was talk myself out of other jobs before I had even looked at the market or approached any agencies. I had a good hard think, got my CV up to date and applied and applied and applied. Is there anyway you could study in your own time and get the certificates you mentioned? There are always options, it can sometimes take some time to find them.
