Bad luck , hope you & the bike mend well.
When I smashed up my fazer the throttle kept sticking open , the cause was that the handlebar itself was bent , causing the throttle grip to stick , or it could be the throttle / choke cables. Take it easy Cheers Steve

yeah, if you've knacked the choke so it sticks it would also cause the backfiring as you'd have lots more unburnt fuel passing through. Unlucky though! glad to hear your in one piece

You tried leaving the bike running (in neutral, on the sidestand) for a minute or two?
I'm pretty sure the ECU sometimes gets itself in knots and gets sticky. Mine did the same thing after a crash. 2 minutes idling and it went back to normal and the problem hasn't re-occured since. |
