On a curvy it's held on by two 10mm headed bolts. Presume it would be the same on yours Rob.

Aye managed to get it shifted - now got problem of trying to get front sprocket off! Is it definitely a left hand thread??? Ive put a piece of wood through but still seems to be moving and the sprocket is definitely not shifting!!
What torque is it set at? |

Anti-clockwise to undo. It's a bugger. About 120 nm's IIRC so well stiff. You have bent back the lock tab?

Ive bent it back now - is that supposed to be replaceable because it seems like it has to be butchered to move it.
The nut isnt shifting - stuck solid even with a 5ft breaker bar on there. Darent put any more force on incase something else gives before the nut! |

It's a normal thread, not a left hand one.

I had to help my neighbour do his last night. He sat on the bike and applied brakes whilst I used impact gun to whack off the nut. Could not use the traditional lump of wood as he has carbon fibre wheels (poser)

Its beaten me for the moment. Really pleased with the way the whole process was going as well, done full 15k service except the valve balancing by myself and was pushing myself in terms of knowledge. Get onto something which requires a bit too much brute force and I fall down defeated with my tools. Think I might need an impact gun.......
Might butcher the tab washer a bit more to make sure its not catching the nut |

you need to use an air gun! I think that most of the people who found it a fairly easy job were probably working on bikes that had already had the sprocket changed once before. Mine was very difficult to undo, even with the airgun. I used loctite when I replaced it.
