How much did the R6 throttle and left grip cost? I've asked for a quote from a local dealer but if it'll cost less I'll order from UK. I'm suspecting they sometimes overcharge a bit over here.

Sorry to drag this up again, but I ordered the throttle tube and ended up with something that has the part number 5EB-26240-01
Now, it fits on the bike fine, but when I do a rough test to see how far the cables travel with quarter of a turn, it seems to be exactly the same as the Suzuki one. I've got the carbs out ATM so I can't actually test it properly, but it seems very similar to the suzuki one. Have I got the wrong part, or is the difference not that noticeable? Any help appreciated, thanks! |

There is an easy way to test if you've got a quicker action throttle tube. Put the ends of the old and new tubes with the ends that hold the cables end to end ( ---| |--- like so!). Now, does the bit where the cable wraps round slightly larger in diameter on the yam tube than the SV one? If so, good.

For me it's just a comfort thing... Means I can save my right wrist for more important repetetive tasks.

There might be other options but the R6 one works so well that I think everyone's stopped looking for others

Erm, just to Clarify, i think you mean Throttle Tube? (the bit you twist on the handlebar)
A Throttle body is part of the fuel injection. Just for any newbies out there ![]() |
