I wouldn't get engaged to you or your clients for £40/hr, what kind of business are you running up there, you a married man to boot.

You're running a business, you can't be having people that refuse to do the job.

Engaged for £40/hr - what's next...

... Married for £80/hr and divorced for £160/hr!

Ed,

What you have to remember is that the future of the rest of your staff could have been put to the test by this one person.

Take the "glass half full" approach, by doing what you did (and it had to be done) you have given the rest of your team a better chance of keeping their jobs.

And, at the end of the day, it's your company and you're in charge. You set the standards, if others can't or won't live/work by them then they are not part of the team. End of.

P.S. £35/hour and I'm yours. I know sweet FA about the law, but I'll manage your office for your when you're out making all my (sorry your) money

.

I feel for you I had to do it for the first time a few weeks ago, it was made more difficult by the fact the guy was trying very hard but despite all the extra training we gave him he wasn't performing to a sufficent standard.

Not a pleasent thing to have to do, but, for what its worth my experiance has been that a few days down the line you will be cursing yourself for leaving it so long.

In the end it has to be done so best for all cocerned to get it over with.
