I get round it by making sure MrsApe has a car. Simple.

I recently got rid of my car (not by choice, it was kaput!
![]() It's even better for my health - I now walk to friend's houses and the shops etc whereas before I would have made the 5 min drive to those places. If I need anything big picking up like bags of cement then friends & family have so far been happy to help in return for a few beers or other general bribery ![]() |

Buy a rickly old Bandit 1200, then you can go to work on the back wheel with a smile on your face and you won't even have to wash it. Oh, and sit up bikes are fun on diesel, i know.

I could probably do without having my own car.
Mrs Tricky has a decent little runabout which I'm insured on. Fact is I like my car. I don't actually use it very often and it spends most of its time sat on the drive. I've thought about selling it a few times but just can't bring myself to do it. When I do drive it I really enjoy it. I leave for work quite early so there is very rarley much traffic. It's nice to have the choice but is a fecking expensive luxury. |

I also have a car which Mrs Bignev uses on a daily basis for work. I hardly ever drive it now and find it a pain now when I have to. It's sooooooo slow.
The daily commute into Belfast is like diesel alley but I've sort of got used to it. It still gets me nervous but my knees don't ache as much from squeezing the tank as they used too. I've only had the bike on the road from October so up to now I've only had wet weather riding that's why I'm enjoying myself so much now. |
