PS - Like you said, theres plenty of tread still left in em and i a bit annoyed at that but not to worry. I've done the best part of 5500 miles on em so far plus whatever the last guy did on em so cant complain too much. Whats the average mileage you guys get from your tyres? What tyres do you rate for the sv??

Well done for getting every single possible mile out of the tyre available.
![]() Now go get a new one. ![]() And this time try to use ALL of the tyre instead of just the middle bit. ![]() |

Just as a matter of interest what mileage did it do to that stage?
You don't want to be riding on that at all, it way passed it's best, with out the centre tread line you can run the tyre to far (as I've done in the passed) and one run can be the difference between a reasonable looking tyre and what you have there. (Oh and if you really have to ride it anywhere, let a bit of the pressure out, it'll feel crap, but will a. stop you riding it hard, b. cause the tyre to "cup" and lift the centre a bit) Cheers Mark

My biggest concern about that tyre is the horizontal splits it has. Just as a matter of interest, my last rear Z6 had those splits in, and I was loosing around 10psi every 45mins. Not good to ride on (but yes, I did, carefully). EMERGENCY USE ONLY: Holts Tyre Weld, £8.99 for a large can from Halfords. Blinking marvellous stuff. Deflate tyre to use it, and got my tyre to 40psi with just the air in the can!! Sealed my leaks up nicely. After putting Tyre Weld in, I then rode it in a straight line to the nearest tyre place & spent just over £100 ![]() |

Trust me, how I was riding at the time, it was only me taking the risk.
Worst case scenario, if it'd of blown out, there was nothing on the road, except for maybe 10mins of the journey. Sticking to back roads that generally only tractors use, and low speeds just in case it spat me off. |
