unfortunately your stuffed if your prescription is quite strong. it may have changed but when i tried them the max was -3.75 which i just qualified for. even if i wanted to try them again its-4.25 now in one eye. they don't fair very well with complicated prescriptions

I ride in glasses all the time. Never had a problem with them steaming up of their own accord. The only way that happens is if you get them wet, or get any water inside your lid . Then you're knackered. I have a pinlock insert, and my lenses are plastic not glass, but I don't see why that should make much of a difference in the long run.

As for comfort, I have a shoei XR1000 and it's perfectly comfortable, I can't feel the arms at all. No trouble getting the glasses on either.

I tried contacts once a few years back, though not on a bike. I trialled them for a few weeks, but couldn't get on with them. Too much faffing about putting them in and out. Also sometimes I'd blink and they'd shift, losing about 3 dioptres of vision, though I do have quite a strong short sightedness and some astigmatism. None of this really wants to make me try them again.

You mean like moisture... like in your breath

I understand what you mean - but it's the breathing that mists up my specs, nothing else.

ditto to the sight and astigmatism. I once sat for half hour scratching my eye out for a lense that that had disappeared. Contacts feel poo in summer on the bike cause they get kack in and dry out. think i prefer to put up with specs, even if in winter they're a bugger to keep from misting and such

Ahh, that's where you're going wrong. I simply take a deep breath at the start of each trip and hold it till I get off the bike.

Dunno what the difference is then. My lid does have pretty good venting, which could be it. At traffic lights in winter I do have to consciously breathe lightly and downward, or crack open the visor. It's only when sat still though.

I've always worn glasses on my bike, have a Shoei Syncrotec II (flip front) which you can put on whilst still wearing your glasses. Although I have recently bought a Shoei Raid II (I must like the sequels), and now have to put lid on then put glasses on, but not finding it too much of a pain.

I use Bob Heath visor stuff on my glasses and don't have a problem with misting (have pinlock on the visor too).

Speccy four eyes here. Tried contacts but can't actually get them in my eye without freaking out (I have a "thing" about eyes).

Dunno, they're a pain for sure but they do feel re-assuringly safe, like you're wearing safety goggles all the time. That said, every time I come off and bang my head I always seem to end up with cuts around the bridge of my nose/eyebrows where glasses frames move.
