fair dos to you all, you have to admit that the paint job on the monster is awesome...

it's nice to know that should i go tarmac surfing it's not likely to be as expensive as i thought

of course, you need to paint it yourself then........

paint shops do vary alot in prices and they all say theres is the best, i paid £120 just for a nose fairing on a pointy in sonic silver.

Issa no a £900 awesome! Inna da paddock at Assen I look atta Casey Ducati bike. He's bike looka like my tyres after Donnigton

Iffa it only da laquer then a t-cut job anda good spray painter willa costa notta so much - perhaps £40-100

OE paint should be petrol resistant... How long was it leaking for?

If it was me, I'd be looking at a used replacement tank, might well be cheaper. Don't do home spraying, even if you get a perfect job the clears available to you in rattle cans tend to be rubbish and cellulose clears aren't in the slightest bit petrol resistant, a splash from the pump can cause the paint to crinkle up like it was hit by paintstripper, no good. Even 1K's not very good for this, and 2K's deadly so not really for DIY.

I would say sell as track spare/someone going to do a custom paint & find one in your colour.
