"NOTE: Restrictor kits can only be fitted by an approved and qualified dealer. Fitting also registers the restriction into the FI International master database and this will generate a certificate that you will recieve as proof of restriction."

Is that enough to convince you Flamin Squirrel?

It really doesn't matter what some bloke on an internet forum says. If your ins. co. will accept your sayso that it's restricted then on you go.

No. There is an offence of riding a unrestricted motorcycle on a restricted license and not, as far as I'm aware, an offense of refusing to be fleeced outrageous sums of money for a worthless piece of paper.

you can only fit restricted ECU to the 2003> models, <2002 models need the throttle slidders but suzuki also make genuine ones i've got genuin ones in mine

33BHP sliders are £150 from FI international not sure if genuine ones are cheaper and ECU is £100 ish

Well they're bound to say that aren't they. To know for sure ask the DVLA.

I've taken mine to 90MPH as i struggle to hold on past that but have been told it wills till do 120. you will love the acceleration

oh and by the way i think if you take your bike to get the 33bhp kit fitted it becomes registered as having one and therefor you have to take back to a dealer to have it taken off as it then has to be registered again as not having it. also once you get it restricted make sure you ask for the old ECU back you will have to sign a statement saying if the bike is found to have the full power ECU fitted the dealer takes no responsibility. its better to keep the the full power one as it works out cheaper to derestrict it when you restriction runs out. I've kept my plates

just don't put them back in no matter how tempting it is

Please post up how many hundreds of pounds the dealer is going to charge you. We could all do with a good laugh.
Not one single person on this forum will recommend you don't get it restricted when you are on a restricted licence it's just a question of how you get it done.

I bought my bike unbeknown to me the ECU was restricted. I was was only mildly miffed at the power of my bike as it was enough to get 108 MPH on the ride home. The ECU does not restrict up to about 5K revs AFAIK. So agree with your choice I don't like the idea of the throttle being curbed.
Anyway, good luck with the dealer prices, you might be lucky, but the offers there at £45 delivered.
