Cannot comment on cbr as i dont know anyone with one but not many discounts available, I thought you were on a budget as you were concerned about insurance. As for r6 a lad up my road has one, had the old one previously and he says it only comes into its own when wringing its neck on nice roads. (roads around here are a bit bumpy i think) My other mate got the 750 about a month ago and loves the handling and "comfort" but he is abit scared of the power, he had the old r6 before it. If it midrange you are after the triumph 675 is meant to be quite good according to writeups.ps sorry if you felt i was questioning your biking qualifications only trying to help! Touchy!

Lol sorry it wasn't meant to be touchy, was just mentioning it. Probably coming out wrong since I've been feeling bitter since it got nicked! Yeah not so much on a budget as don't want to pay stupid amounts for insurance. It was £1k this year with the Suzuki discount (£400) for buying new. It seems that the problem is mainly that it'll limit my access to decent companies, who may no longer quote me, meaning a big jump.

Will be finding out a bit more tomorrow about the situation, both in terms of insurance & compensation from the tracker company.

No probs, didn't know you had it nicked till i just looked on the disc lock question! was abit confused by the bike listed in your sig. By the way i like the look of them triumphs. I take it you wouldn't recommend a tracker then? If it makes you feel any better I live in a rural area but bike theft is rife around here. One of my mates had his nicked from his garage(offroad bike-not insured), his stepdad(bandit1200) had his taken from another address. Both of them are refusing to buy another cos of it.And my other mate has had 3 nicked, 2 from one garage(gixxer600+sv650s) and one from another but he got that one back(scruffy gixxer 1100 streetfighter no wonder!)

If you had money to spare I'd say get a tracker as well, but if I had the choice again I'd put it into £600 of Almax chains and concreted in cround anchors...a tracker "could" help but I am now a firm believer that physical security beats all...

In fact I'd say, put the £600 towards one of those bike sheds - dunno if it's on this thread but I'm moving to another place with a garage now, and getting one of these bolted to the floor inside it: http://www.motoeurope.com/secure_a_bike.html#Racer

Expensive, but if they have the ability to move over half a ton (the unit weighs 350kg for the 'Racer'), which is bolted to the floor, I don't know what else can be done!

Sorry to hear about your mates...having just the one nicked is so sickening, I can't imagine what it must be like to have 3 nicked!

You think thats bad...I went into Keys Motorcycles (of worthing) today, and went upstairs to look at the riding gear. There was a fantastic Yamaha OW01, 63 miles on the clock or something. And the longest of the long tail parts for a numberplate.

It looked rediculous, on a bike that is, for all intents and purposes, a racing bike on the road

Fantastic to sit on though, I really really want to buy it (i dont think its for sale though...)

Matt
