I had an hour long MRI scan which wasn't very pleasant, but that was for medical research. My little normal MRI scan was dead easy, just a big drone and so long as you stare at the mirror you can pretend you are not in the tube at all. Just don't overthink it too much.

Had a couple of MRIs done on my knee, so again, no head inside...
... which was dissapointing as I think they are awesomely cool things. Big clunking beggars that look like a massive polo mint. They are generally white and well lit so it's about as light and airy as your going to get - definately not descending into a dark little hole. Take some music, CD or something with you as you can sometimes request your own stuff. To be honest, personally, I'd love to have a scan of my head - just curious. ![]() |

Don't be such a wuss
There was a TV program last month about vets, and they had to put an anteater with a bad back in one of those machines for a scan. Turns out it had a collapsed disc or something similar. Made me laugh as the guy using the machine had to click on an outline of a human to specify the back area - it obviously wasn't designed for anteaters ![]() |

I've taken my son for a few MRI scans. I'm sure he's never had to get undressed. They should give you earplugs, but you might want to take your favourite ones in case they forget/you don't like them.
![]() nothing to worry about - apart from the result that is! Good luck with that! |

So.... heres a hug ![]() I'ms usre you'll laugh about it afterwards, even if you do end up glowing in the dark. how cool would that be, you could ride naked at night and be safe as houses, lol.

I had an MRI earlier this year on my neck, and didn't need to take off my vest top or trousers.
Not the most fun experience, but not as bad as I thought it would be. |

i had a MRI on my head and neck couple of months back.
CT scanners are identical they just produce different images. im claustrafobic too but its ok cos its only yur head thats in the scanner so you can see outside which helps. theyre quite noisey though |
