Its an exhaust, there not covered under warrenty as they are consumable ( unless its a fault with it). Like on cars, as long as its designed for your bike then you should not have any issues fitting aftermarket exhausts.

If the exhaust causes a failure, then obviously you're snookered (ie, if you fitted a really free-flowing exhaust and filter combo and didn't remap, and burned a valve seat, you've got no chance. But it'd be up to them to demonstrate a connection.

ok think of it like this....

if you have an issue, change it back to stock exhaust before taking it in.

No hassles then.

On most SVs, this wouldn't conceal the fact you'd fitted an aftermarket exhaust (at some point) during the warranty period as you have to cut the original to fit the replacement one. It might only be hearsay, but I've heard that Suzuki are the most reasonable marque when it comes to not invalidating warranties for petty reasons such as having fitted an aftermarket exhaust.

+1

I also checked with my dealer who supplied the SV and he confirmed that owners fitting a can would not have a warranty claim affected. Just hope I don't have to test it out
