I'll keep driving my muscle car around so you won't have winter anymore. How's that sound? Then you won't have lulls and it might even stop raining altogether...Chances of that are slim as it seems it's been raining quite a bit more than average. Good news is i'm taking the bike into the mountains and going camping this weekend. Forecast is clear skies with zero percent chance of rain. Highs in the mid to upper 60s F and lows in the upper 30s F. If anybody needs to live vicariously through me that's ok too, I get that all the time.

The list starts here:

P.S. I wore short sleeves last Christmas and the one before that too!!! On the down side, it was near 90 degrees F today...and I'm not even in Florida!

Oh yeah, had one lull for about 3 weeks after I broke my ankle, but I bought a lot of cool stuff and put it on the bike while i was hobbling around. I was back on it within a month...against doc's orders of course.

That's possible, but bikes don't complain half as much as women and you can ride them (bikes) any time you want as hard as you want.

(no offense to the ladies I know we men are @$$holes sometimes...usually)

I had a lull in biking soon after I passed my test. Bought a naked GS500 which was a killer above 70, and didnt have any mates to ride with either and coupled with only a student loan to help pay for the upkeep, i was intent on selling up and waiting a few years before getting back into it. However, things turned around and now I just couldnt give it up, its too much part of my life to be given up. I do have days where I think I'm not on the button and I'm not in the right frame of mind, but doesnt mean I dont enjoy it anymore.

Not ridden a bike since 2nd July cos I hurt my hand and can't pull the clutch in yet. This has been the longest I have gone without my bike since I passed my test in 1994 So it's sort of an enforced lull.

Ive had a bit of a crap last six months, every time I leave the house it seems to be costing me money on the bikes these days, the missus,s isnt happy but doesnt say anything but I can tell, and now its bucketing down outside and I fear the season is well and truly over for me this year, I hope not , but fear it is.

I sometimes have a week or so of not using my bike, like if I have lots of meetings to go to in various places with work and I have to get the train to work. I start to wonder if I'll ever get back on it, but then of course I do, and love every minute of it. Although my commute to work (40 miles down the M6) isn't the most inspiring ride.

I'm not finding the time at weekends at the moment which is a shame so the commute is my only time on the bike.

I can understand you having a lull Blue_ but reading some of your previous posts and seeing your trackday vids, I'm sure you'll pull through!

Cheers,
Matt

I've never considered giving it up entirely, but I do have phases where I stop enjoying it and it becomes just practical transport. I find if I've been using it a lot for long trips for work, I have little desire to "just go for a ride" for fun, or ride socially.

The weather has little to do with it for me ... I never go for 'Sunday blasts' I only commute, and I do 90-95% of my commutes on my bike, so apart from it being a bit more pleasant in the summer, it makes no difference to my bike usage any time of the year ...

Thing is I have just stopped 'caring' ... like half the time I can't even be bothered to log on here to chat/read about bike stuff ... I no longer think about bikes like I normally would in the interval between thinking about boobies!!!

Oh and I am not thinking about 'giving up' ... that isn't really on the cards, the bike is too useful ... but I am not thinking 'when/where is my next trackday gonna be?' or looking on eBay for new bikes bits every day ...
