After the success of the "'Org Mountain Bikers Welsh Weekend 2010" is there any interest in an "'Org Mountain Bikers Epic Island XC Endurance Event" ???

I can't give you singletrack like Llandegla, the Island is mostly chalky bridleways and rolling hills, but if you like XC or not it's some pretty epic views and distance riding.

I'd say do just a weekend, meet and eat Friday evening, spend Saturday on the trails and then lazy start Sunday and get everyone off earlyish so they get a good night before work the next day. If people can get themselves and bikes to any ferry I can provide transport to and from for as many bikes as we can stack on the trailer in one go so no need to pay to bring cars over. Ride would start at my place so no need to drive anywhere while you're here.

I'm thinking early to mid December, the IOW is nowhere near as cold as the rest of the UK, thanks to the surrounding water, but it won't be tropical, I might even have to retire the shorts...
Well if you don't do it this year, then it would be a good basis for a weekend next year

Courtesy of Lily haveing a quick look would cost £18 on ferry foot passenger prices and £64 on trainfare to portsmouth.

So approaching Xmas I would be a deffo no no as don't want to commit knowing can't afford it.

I would prefer it in the New Year at some point too rather than this year . I would rather get myself a bit more bike fit over the coming Winter months so I can enjoy these epics a bit more in the New Year ( I reckon a few others would mirror the same sentiment as well)

Yes, another good reason is I've asked Santa for a new MTB

I'm not sure, I need to organise dog sitters for this and I'm using up a lot of favours in November to attend the Autumn internationals.

OK, I'll have a word with Rich at the weekend, like I say it doesn't have to be at his place, that needs a fair number and some advanced planning but it does fit nicely. I'll see how long in advance he'd expect to book out and take it from there.

Yep its a Mazda Bongo, fully comp £283 for me and the wife, although on a limited milage policy.

It was through a specialist broker for imported vehicles

Ace... I think it was just because my licence still had the ink drying on it, I did OK for the car but anything bigger was expensive. Maybe next year... They're just so cool

Well if you do, then join the Bongo fury club first, as you get discounted insurance with them

If I specified the Bongo as only used for camping trips and no regular commuting trips it would have been £220

For what I paid for it, I'm happy, needs tidying and a couple of things sorting out. But what I paid is nothing like the stupid money my brother in law paid for a 1978 VW, with no luxuries like air con or easy 70mph crusing. Each to their own I suppose

Just taken my Boardman back to Halfords as I still couldn't get it to shift down the block on the rear (remember my hissy fit at Llandegla? )

I now have a brand new Sram x9 (rrp £76) which shifts lovely
