Tesco's, Direct Line etc generally have a limit on the amount that can be claimed for any single 'issue' - so if you are unlucky enough to have a continuous problem you can rapidly reach that limit. Pet Plan is 'Cover for life' as they call it - there is a limit, but it re-sets each year.
Thanks for that, I didn't know about fixed limit and probably would not have noticed.
The Wife is going to sort the insurance out soon.
Meg's at the vets tomorrow to get wormed, chipped, jabbed and a general 1st service.
She seems to have settled in alright already, although a bit bonkers,
Matilda is coming round now, but still will not let Meg anywhere near her feet

Ahh - Spider has also just discovered the delights of socks and now attempts to pull them off your feet at every given opportunity.
But then he first discovered them by managing to 'climb' up to the top of my 3' high wicker wash basket! How the hell he got up there I don't know, but I had to come to the rescue when a plaintive little squeak told me he'd got stuck.

I highly recommend M+S pet insurance. Can have it with NO excess and has lifetime cover for any illness unlike most companies that only pay out for first 12 months.

Bob likes socks also, tis why my son has lots of odd ones, they always end up in Bobs bed with the toes chewed off. Ahhhh doggies they're soooooo adorable

I am in the process of arranging Spider's insurance and thought I'd check this out - cos no excess sounds good...

... too good - though it doesn't mention it at all within the online quote where it shows the amount covered for illness, holiday cancellation etc... take a look at the policy booklet through the PDF link at the bottom and there it is - Dogs, Premium cover = excess £70 if under 9yrs old - £70 + 20% over 9yrs, Standard cover = £90 if under 0yrs - £90 + 20% of over 9yrs.

If you already have an existing policy - it may be they have just revised their new ones - but it's something to check - espescially on renewal.

Petplan also operate a percentage loading to theri excess - but it's 10% at 10+yrs and 20% at 12+yrs. Set excess amount is £80.
