Hi, can you kindly point out where and how I can access these wires that go to the diode under the switch or to the diode itself? Thanks, G |

Re: Wires cut (attempted theft) - advice on how to get it running again
They come out of the bottom of the ignition switch, there's a green 6 pin connector either under the tank or under the LHS fairing panel.
Better to check out all the wiring as hopefully they've only cut the ones from the ignition. The diode goes from the ignitor to earth, so make sure that the earth (black w white tracer) is intact.

Re: Wires cut (attempted theft) - advice on how to get it running again
Hi Guys,
I've checked all the wiring and it all appears to be intact. I switched the red wires over and as soon as i tried starting it, there was a strong bang - it backfired! I checked the fuse and it appeared ok, so I switched the red wires back to how they were. I'm unsure if I should try starting it again now, in case I cause any further damage. If I try to put the bike in gear, I have no success, which I'm sure was not the case previously? When the kill switch is on and the key is in the on position then the green light appears however the start button does not operate. So any suggestions other than having the bike taken to a garage and paying £30 an hour? Thanks, G |

Right, tell us what colours you have there which were cut, and whether they're all from the same "sleeve"

Can you throw up a photo of the damage from the front?
