i'm thinking Che might be right, based on the angle of the sets and the current springs location i'd say that if the spring were attached it would cause the lever to push down instead of lift up. |

I would always expect for a spring to be there to return the lever, you cant rely on fluid pressure alone. The fluid is not exerting any pressure to fully return the lever, only part way. Last edited by flymo; 01-05-09 at 03:34 PM. |

Correct - I've edited that post, but the extra hole (same size actually) is just to ensure you can align the master cylinder and/or change leverage ratio. I used the outboard hole.

I cant see it causing a major problem without a spring but thats the reason the stock lever has one. Front brakes are different as there is no lever acting downwards, other thing to watch out for with no spring potentially is the front of the lever touching the ground when fully leaned over. |

I have Diamond race rearsets on mine, very similar to yours. I'll take some snaps of the spring arrangement when i get home for you.

I agree 100%. I bought mine mostly for the bling, a bit for the adjustable position -but was pleasantly suprised how much better the shift action was. The price is a bargain for what you get -far cheaper than any other adjustable sets I could find and quite nicely made.
