Make a choice, and stay calm.
Last thing you want is to be nervous while carving up your local streets to get away. If you 'plan' to try it out then get a Supermoto - awesome on and offroad! Also helps to have a plan of where your going (no good if you get chased in an area you dont know!) ![]() |

The thought would inevitably cross my mind if I was being pulled for something pretty serious.
But by then it would be too late anyway, if you ride with a number plate you're already caught as soon as the "chase" begins. Even without the number plate identifying me and my bike within seconds, I'd put my chances of escaping without a plan from a random location as (at best) 1 in 8 in a rural location with little police presence, and no immediate air support (probably). It's not just the initial losing of the chasing car, you then have to get back home without being identified, and without a plate you're fairly conspicuous. In urban areas I'd put my chances at less than 1 in 20 unless you have a good plan. If you make that initial decision to run, you've just dug yourself an even deeper hole to get out of. I'd rather try to escape prosecution than try to escape capture, you're probably far more likely to succeed, and certainly far more likely to escape with your life. |

What about taking your lid off?
Heard some rumour that they wouldn't chase an un-helmeted biker for fear of the press.

I'd give it a go.
But as soon as that chopper comes out, just pull over, lie on the floor face down and await the handcuffs. Your not ever going to get away (well, unless you fly very very close to an airport or no fly zone ![]() |

If you've got a bit of a lead you might have a chance at legging it into a big indoor place and ditching your lid and jacket.

Cheaper to sit someone with a rifle in a concealed spot and hit it before takeoff, doesn't take much to unbalance a turbine. Big game gun firing FMJ would do the trick easily.
If I was planning a serious criminal operation then ridiculous and cowardly firepower is how I'd do it too. Can't see police putting up much resistance.
