Restriction is at the ECU ... make sure they give you your full power ECU back.
Could be worse, at least he hasn't shot the owner in the guts with a crossbow a la HAMC and thundercity recently

They are telling me that I am not entitled to have the full power ECU (although they were going to double check), I have checked with Suzuki customer services and I am supposed to receive it so its just painting a worse and worse picture of theses clowns.

The full power ECU is your property, as its part of the bike. I assume you then paid extra for the restricted one.
However if they did you a deal and restricted it as part of the purchase, then they may have the right to keep it. |

Suzuki were giving the ecu's free, I got mine done for nothing(included when I bought the bike) and it's a K7. I also got given the full power one, they are trying it on.

Yup that's theft. And they'll probably want to charge you after your 2years is up to derestrict it, and if they go bust or anything then you'll be another lump of money out of pocket for a new ECU

Its only theft if the bike was purchased and then the purchaser paid to have it restricted. I could quite easily envisage someone negotiating the price of the bike and asking for it to be restricted as part of the deal.
If you didn't ask for/agree that the buyer would have the original ECU when the contract was signed, then i don't think its theft. They could easily argue that they swapped the ECU not giving you another one. |

Well even though I got the restriction free, it was Suzuki that payed for it and according to them I am entitled to it. So if they don't provide it and other missing things then I guess its get on to Suzuki/trading standards but for now its a waiting game.

And don't forget a little letter to all the bike press outling the case and ask them to ensure it's printed so as not to have other restricted riders shafted by them out to make a few extra quid when other dealers are happy to give back the std ECU for nothing.
IMHO they are really tryign it on and deserve to be named and shamed - not as far as defemation of course, just the bare facts. |
