Sorry to rant but people should be more aware of the hazards of fuel.
Arghhhh, bleeding idiots.

A moron threatend to errrr 'nut me' when I pointed out to him that , it's not the best idea to try and light a ciggie while sat in a car in the ,middle of a forecourt.

Situation almost got out of hand as he wasn't happy with my responce of, "It's quite ok if you want to blow yourself up but me, I'm only imterested in filling my bike up"......some people are just too stupid

At a trackday, you'd be surprised how many people fill their bikes up (via jerry can) in the same pit garage as me with a fag hanging out of their mouth!! To be fair, I haven't seen one 'go-up' yet ... but how can anyone be THAT stupid?!!?

It also piddles me off and makes me 'clench' if someone walks past with a lit fag (worse still literally sparks up) when I am filling up .. again, how can someone be that mindless??

And this is what "could" happen if you use your mobile when the vapour mixture is right.
Watch the delivery driver get his phone out of his pocket whilst opening the top hatches.......

Yep you're totally correct, If I'm honest I was just stirring it. However I'm of the impression that a static discharge would be far more likely to cause a problem than a phone. I've had a few good belts off of my motor in the past when shutting the door. I believe there is some arrangement at the pumps to earth the vehicle through the nozzle?
Please feel free to enlighten me further though.

I know there's ones on planes but I'm not so sure about ones on cars.

I remember I once saw a guy fill up his car then get, what looked like a, caravan water tank out of his boot (y' know the ones with something like a 35L capacity) and fill that up with petrol That could have been a pretty nasty bomb!
