So to sum up, bigger TB's are good for ~4BHP but do TL/SV TB's fit or not?
Or are they too big? Or would the EFI not cope without a (very expensive) custom EFI ECU? Not that I care having a carbed curvy but I keep thinking about having a play with FI[1] Druid [1] And megasquirt

Meh. TB's are only on steel plate. Easy to move, just remake plates and linkage, easy to offset. Have welder, will hammer.
But as zadar says you don't gain much over bored TB's to huge ones like TL. There is a point that whatever you gain in reduced dP you will lose in reduced charge velocity and charge mixing.

AFAIK SV1000 have 52mm, SV650 39mm and the graphs are from what, 2mm over so 41mm? So SV1000 (and presumably TL) are massively large then.
You'd probably be better off trying a set of hayabusa TB's (44mm AFAICT) if the SV1000's wont fit straight on, might even be able to re-use most of the existing bits from the 650's TB's. They are after all designed for *exactly* the same size cylinder! ![]() I'd try it myself but I've got a curvy ![]() Druid
