Stoppy - get some legal advice before you send something like this. I'm not an expert in employment law!! How about this for a draft - as stated get advice from someone who knows what they're talking about!!!

You could go back and say that you didn't resign, cos if people tell you to foxtrot oscar and you walk out, you may well not have resigned. Depends if you want the job I suppose! If you do want to resign and definitely don't want to go back:

'Dear Gaffer

You will know that I walked out on Friday.

I really didn't want to walk out, I only did so because I was forced into it by the bullying, harrassment and intimidation of 'Big G'. His vile language 'F off you C' is something that nobody should have to tolerate in the workplace. Unfortunately, it happened once too often and I can no longer stand the poisoned atmosphere that I was expected to work in. I had done nothing wrong and I don't know why this abusive lout took against me. Perhaps he gets a kick out of being a bully, I don't know.

But what I do know is that this sort of bullying is a flagrant breach of contract, and in walking out I didn't terminate the contract, I simply accepted the many breaches of contract committed by this unpleasant and unbearable bully. You did nothing to stop him behaving in this way and so the conduct became institutionalised.

I am therefore going to claim that I was constructively dismissed, and also I am going to claim unfair dismissal.

Yours faithfully

Stoppy'

That should do the trick, but I think it'd sound more professional if you made the changes I highlighted above.

Good luck Stoppy!!

Even if you don't want to work there again, this dude needs a talking at by the big boss ... that sort of thing just isn't acceptable!! It is HE that needs the boot

Why don't you be really cheeky and go to the big boss and say "can I have the floormans job, he is blatantly not a people person and I'd love to take on the challenge as I get on great with the rest of the staff and understand his role ... "

Stoppy gets promoted, a-hole gets the boot!!

Whatever you do, don't start telling tails and calling him names to him or his seniors. That will get you nowhere!!
