The sauna is feel good factor, and it is apparently good for your skin. I think if you have done a work out, and eaten sensibly all day you are entitled to relax and perv in the sauna

Well done on what you have lost so far, sounds to me like what you are doing is working, just keep it up!

I wish the sauna at my health club had the perv factor, its just full of wrinkly old men and women sadly

Good luck with it though, you seem more than determined enough to achieve it and ultimately that is all you need, you could use any technique and it will work as the right attitude to suceed is there.

I'm actually on a course at the moment to try and give me greater control of my diabetes, it's all about matching my insulin to my food intake, AND when I exercise.

The best way to burn off fat is as has been suggested, get your heart rate up, keep it up, but don't let it get too high.

I've atteched a file thingy (It didn't attach - ???), with a chart I used to use to help with heart rates. It's important to make sure that the rate for fat burning stays within the zone, if it goes up to the improved fitness level then great, you get fitter, but don't necessarily burn off the fat. If you're looking at shifting the weight, then the fat burning zone is the one you want.

How many of you are there? Our shopping for 2 kids 2 adults is never less that £130 for a week and I make everything from scratch, very rarely use ready made stuff.

Can't seem to get under that cost.

Hope the weight loss goes well...

I was about 16st 8 a couple of weeks ago (about 6 foot ish)....I gave up beer (was having a couple of cans most nights - living in Cornwall does that to you...) and ate a little more healthily and I've lost about 6 lbs so far - and thats without doing any excercise...

Hoping to get to about 15 and a half by the end of June....

I think I might have to resort to going on the Cross trainer that I keep bumping into on the way to the fridge...

I've just done the opposite, and bulked up - but a mate has just lost 3 stone over the past 3 months. He stopped eating all snacks, regulated his meals, worked out 3 times a week and walked 10 miles at the weekend. He got to bed at a sensible time as well to regulate his body clock.

I cycle everyday to keep fit - trying to do between 6 and 14 miles a day - This allows you to get the heart rate up, as has been mentioned before. Whatever you do try and exercise in the real world and set yourself goals - Like run a set route in 45 mins, the next day try and do it in 40 or 42. Try and work out hard, but give yourself sensible recovery time, which might mean skipping a day in the gym a week.

Some new mobiles - Mine is a Nokia N95 - have a sport tracker GPS service built into them, so you can upload your route and times to googlemaps and really start looking at your performance. -- Again gives you a new goal and more interest to your workout.
