Hey this is Liverpool we're talking about. If the lollypop bloke didn't stop the traffic, they'd just jaywalk instead

Where do I rent a lollypop man uniform??? ... this sounds so cool - I could cause havoc!!!

Why don't you just have a word with him Speedy? Or write to your local council?

What's worse, is that on my way into work, there is a Lollypop lady who does nothing but stand by a pedestrian crossing with traffic lights on them, and presses the button as people approach it!

Does my nut it...

pain in the bum one round here stops the traffic for one kid. no wonder there are huge hold ups. yet further up the road the one there assembles a group before halting traffic

How much extra time does it actually add to your journey? A minute maybe? Can't see what the fuss is about. You could always take a long pole with you, charge down the road and see if you can hit the lolipop.

But that's one more kid who has got safely across a busy road. If it was your kid I'm sure you wouldn't complain about traffic being stopped for him/her. If everytime you make your journey it coincides with this kid crossing then leave a bit earlier maybe, there are worse things in the world to get het up about.

Hehe this sounds fun.

whats the law say about filtering up to crossings like this if there's some cars in the way?

At busy times, I would expect the crossing attendant to work with traffic, not against. His actions mean that irate drivers will/do ignore him. He is causing the crossing to be unsafe. When he can see a couple of hundred yards of queue he is causing. Why then does he stop every 3rd car instead of assembling a group and then stopping traffic like his colleague 1/2 a mile up the road does

Well that would be the more sensible option
