The problem might not be the fueling, the fueling after the fix isnt that bad, between 13:1 and 14:1 is fine...Its Like the V990 (my bike and RSV) there is a hole at about 4.5K RPM, the only way to fix this is to play with the airbox and/or end cans. PC3 wont help if this isnt done. There looks to be a good chance told Boris has a similar thing going on... Maybe it is caused by something the factories did for noise reduction back in the days our bikes came out?

I think you are confusing the use of the PC3
PC3 is just a box that goes between the ecu and the rest of the bike so that you can load a MAP! The PC3 won't give you any power - it's just a plastic box with electronics in it - it's what you load on the PC3 that makes the difference |

Me? Heh. No. Ive done a lot of research into these... This is why I decided to go for a new Eprom instead as I also got advanced ignition muha ha ha. What I said in my post above is that no matter what map you load or what map you get made; without the hardware modification to remove the restriction/bottleneck in the bike at a certain RPM a PC3 (and any maps you put on) wont make any odds. I am looking at the same print out right? It does show the A/F mix at 13:1 after 5K rpm? If thats right there is nothing else a PC3 can do. |

Yeah, looking at other dynos for that year of bike, lots have that slump around 5000rpm, though not usually as dramatic. Some bikes end up with random dips in their power curves because the manufacturers are trying to work round emissions regs etc... (though that's usually leanness, not richness as you have) And that's fairly early FI so wobbly patches weren't uncommon. And it's not a new bike either, so things that weren't quite right on day one can just naturally get a bit worse.
(PS, Lozzo's graph may be lovely and smooth, but it's also very rich all the way through- looks more or less like bikes do when they'r jetted for a performance filter then someone puts the stock one back in.) It's a lot better than it was though, told you your man had ****ed up ![]() ![]() On the other hand, it's now pretty lean just before the old slump, where it wasn't before. PC should have more control than that.
